Required Qualifications:
  • High School / GED or equivalent work experience of 2 or more years in an administrative capacity. Training/education may substitute for some of the experience.
  • Comfort using computers/technology and learning software
  • High level of organizational skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and pay attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite and Google Apps
  • Strong written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Commitment to protecting and maintaining confidential information

Position Overview
The Membership Experience Assistant plays a key role in the Bell’s Development &
Membership Department. This role supports the Membership and Annual Giving Manager, and works in conjunction with Development and Administrative Assistant to provide friendly and accurate on customer service to elevate the member-experience. The individual in this position will provide behind the scenes support to ensure members' records are accurate and updated in a timely manner.

Estimated number of hours per week: up to 20 hours per week

Major Responsibilities:
Membership Administration 90%
  • Key areas: Membership Fulfillment
  • Assist with weekly processing of new and renewing museum memberships
  • Provide keen attention to membership details and for mail-merges
  • Assemble materials to be mailed or distributed to members.
  • Assist in processing payment for new or renewing membership purchases
  • Prepare membership and development mailings such as folding, inserting, collating, and printing materials for stewardship, solicitation, or renewal campaigns

  • Key areas: Membership Maintenance & Customer Experience
  • Update donor data in donor management database and our ticketing software
  • Complete data/account tasks to maintain member account data accuracy
  • Support membership and donor events including: registration tracking, on-site support and correspondence
  • Provide excellent and friendly customer service and support for membership inquiries
  • Respond to membership inquiries, purchases and renewals in-person, on the phone or over email.
  • Provide prompt, thorough, and professional responses to email and phone membership questions
  • Serve as a membership advocate, by sharing knowledgeable of the membership program and process

10% Development Administrative Support
  • Administrative support for annual fund raising drives and special events
