This position provides short-term counseling, crisis management and consultation and care management services for WVU Employees and their dependents.

What you’ll do:

GENERALIST CLINICAL AND RELATED DUTIES:

  • Provide multiculturally-sensitive brief counseling and psychotherapy for individuals, with diverse presenting concerns.
  • Provide clinical services including but not limited to assessment, treatment planning, short-term counseling, group therapy, crisis intervention services, psychoeducation, and case management.
  • Conduct comprehensive intake evaluations, triage, and crisis intervention services.
  • Administer and document risk assessments and risk reduction interventions.
  • Conduct mandatory referral assessments and reports for employees referred by employee relations and other administrative leaders.
  • Provide consultation and outreach to clients and their families, WVU faculty/staff, and the university community.
  • Complete required documentation in an electronic health record system and quality assurance activities including routine monitoring in accordance with agency policies and state and federal regulations.
  • Attend case conference, committees, task forces, and other meetings related to the mission of the Program and the university.
  • Provide clinical supervision to trainees and facilitates seminars on a variety of clinical or professional topics.
  • Serve as a liaison to various campus stakeholders and ensures that students, faculty and staff are provided with timely information regarding employee mental health concerns and resources.

OFFICE/CARE DUTIES:

  • When Office Assistant is not available, answer and direct phone calls
  • Greet clients, family members, visitors, etc. exhibiting superior customer service skills.
  • Assesses behavioral health urgency.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and privacy at all times.
  • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
  • Collect and collate utilization data, demographics and track visits using Excel spreadsheets
  • Coordinate training and CE approval for community providers to whom FSAP refers.
  • Provide information by answering questions and requests
  • Research and creates presentations
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance.
  • Assists with support and coordination of services, liaison with employee relations, medical management.
  • Develop on-going communication with community providers to ensure referral information is up to date and plan and organize meetings and trainings with community clinicians.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in social work (MSW), counseling, clinical/counseling psychology, or related field.
  • License-eligible; must obtain a Provisional License and/or License (LICSW/LPC) within the State of West Virginia in counseling, psychology, or related field within two years of being hired for the position.
  • LGSW or provisional LPC considered
  • LICSW, LPC preferred
  • One (1) year experience in GAD, mental health, counseling, case management
  • Knowledge, skills, and expertise required to proficiently conduct, document and evaluate multiculturally sensitive intake/triage/crisis assessment, individual, and group psychotherapy, and consultation/outreach across a range of mental health concerns.
  • Knowledge, skills, and expertise required to proficiently conduct training and consultation in a university setting.
  • Ability to utilize an electronic health record system.
  • Ability to effectively utilize data base software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with a team.
  • Knowledge, skills, and expertise required to proficiently provide Care management and to actively identify and decrease barriers to care.
  • Experience with data management and related software.
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural humility and affirmative care for all employees

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience providing clinical services in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Experience providing services to diverse employees and their dependents (e.g., students of color, LGBTQ students, international students, military veterans)
  • Experience with Excel, Microsoft Access or similar software.
  • Ability to navigate and to collaborate with university and healthcare systems
