Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Therapist/Counselor for our practice who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. The Therapist/Counselor serves an integral role as part of the interdisciplinary team providing care, therapy and services to our psychiatric and/or chemically dependent patients.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will provide psychiatric and/or chemical dependency counseling services to groups, individuals and families.
  • You will provide psychosocial assessments.
  • You will provide treatment and discharge planning.
  • You will provide Intake and Utilization Management duties as needed in conjunction with community programs.
  • You will provide linkage to community resources and act as program liaison alongside provider relations representative.
  • You will be responsible for program development including contributing to the growth of current program and coordination of new programs in satellite location.
  • You will provide referrals to extended treatment or continuation of care.
  • You will conduct psychoeducational groups and classes for patients and families and serve as lead for curriculum offered.
  • You will coordinate services and oversee communication with psychiatrist and psychiatric residents.

What qualifications you will need:

  • A Master’s Degree is required
  • Must maintain professional certification and/or licensure as one of the following (or working toward such certification or license): LCSW; LMFT; LPC
  • The CPI Certification within the first 90 days of employment is required
  • A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required

  • A minimum of six (6) months of supervised experience in psychiatric setting or addictive disease treatment setting is required

What qualifications you will need:


  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • Masters Degree
  • Clinical Mental Health Counselor, or License Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Family Therapist, or Mental Health Counselor Intern, or Reg Clinical Soc Worker-Intern
