The Behavioral Health Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a caseload providing behavioral health services in both the residential and day program settings, as well as direct supervision of Behavioral Health Clinicians and several mental health/social work interns. The position requires that the incumbent be able to function as a member of the treatment team as well as fulfill the role of a lead clinician. These duties include maintaining an active record or behavior support plans and medical monitoring plans, maintaining regulatory compliance and structural integrity of clinical programs for individual and group therapy.

Additional clinical work will include development and facilitation of clinical trainings for programs and the greater agency, as well as participation on various adjunct committees. This position will operate from Bio-Psycho-Social-Environmental Framework to improve clients emotional well-being and support productive opportunities for growth and improvement with independent living skills.

This position reports directly to the Director of Behavioral Health Services.

Requirements:
The candidate should preferably hold a NYS license in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) as well as have at least three years’ experience working with people living with ID/DD and at least 1 year of supervisory experience.

This position requires a knowledge of psychopharmacology and differential diagnosis, as well as maintain a strong background of multiple clinical interventions and theoretical foundations including but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Informed Approaches and Dialectical Behavior Therapy and the development of person centered treatment plans written from a trauma informed perspective.

The position also calls for strong knowledge base in the area of psychiatric issues in the ID/DD population including pharmacotherapy and differential diagnosis as well as consideration for continuity of care and connection with treatment teams.
