WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are currently seeking to hire behavior interventionists to provide school-based behavior services to children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities in Los Angeles and in the valley for the 2022-2023 school year. The ideal candidates will have great communication skills, be flexible, be friendly, patient, fun, and professional.

WHAT IT TAKES

➤ Must have a bachelor's degree, an active RBT License, or at least 3 years of previous experience working in a school-based setting as a Special Education Assistant or Behavior Interventionist

This position may require working with a diverse group of individuals. This position may require working with students of all ages as well as parents and staff. Employees in this position may encounter stressful situations where a professional attitude will be required. Multi-tasking is essential as deadlines and frequent interruptions are common.

BEHAVIOR INTERVENTIONIST - DAY TO DAY

➤ Availability: Must be available Monday – Friday between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm

➤ Follow company policies and procedures as stated in the company handbook

➤ Comply with policies established by federal and state laws and school district guidelines and regulations

➤ Provide behavior intervention services as specific in students' IEP and Behavior Intervention Plan through Applied Behavior Analysis and work with students that may have various cognitive, neurological, and/or physical disabilities and maladaptive behaviors. *Maladaptive behaviors from students may include, but are not limited to: elopement, verbal and physical aggression (hitting, punching, slapping, biting, pinching, head-butting, throwing, spitting, kicking, etc.) oppositional defiance, inappropriate language, and task avoidance

➤ Behavioral Intervention includes providing BI services in a one-on-one setting; two-on-one setting; small group; whole class embedded support, classroom assistance, and or special education classroom assistant. BI services may also include providing services during transportation with the student to and from school.

➤ Assist with toileting and daily functional skills if required

➤ Implement and monitor progress towards IEP goal(s) and behavior intervention plan

➤ Collect data on student progress towards IEP goals. Document delivery of servicers in specified database on a daily/weekly basis

➤ Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement classroom-based activities to improve student academic and social-emotional progress

➤ Maintain 100% compliance on service delivery

➤ Submit weekly/monthly compliance reports to the Supervisor and Compliance Manager if required

➤ Effectively communicate with colleagues, students, and parents regarding the accomplishment of therapy goals and needs of the student under the direction of the licensed supervisor

➤ Must be available for coverage for other cases in the event of regular assigned case/student absent or in the event of school closure. This may include traveling to another site if needed within a 25 mile radius

➤ Develop needed professional skills appropriate to the job assignment

➤ Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible

➤ Other duties as requested are appropriate for a Behavior Interventionist
