Arrowhead is seeking a Behavior Health Specialist II to join our Team! You will be responsible for exemplifying and reinforcing the concepts of a Trauma Informed Care based treatment environment that provides and develops positive group and individual strengths. Responsibilities:
- Build rapport with residents both individually and in groups
- Lead, supervise and monitor group work
- Monitor and supervise recreation and other assigned on or off-grounds activities
- Complete daily shift reports and other required documentation
- Distribute medications as prescribed with complete documentation
- Provide leadership and mentoring to youth in care
- Value diversity and incorporate cultural differences into treatment planning and implementation in order to work effectively in cross-cultural situations. Will pay careful attention to group dynamics and cultural differences and will work closely with treatment staff to determine what adaptations may be needed to better serve our residents.
- Model desired behavior traits, help build life skills and help youth in care learn the tools they need to meet their individual goals.
- Must possess a High School Diploma ,but prefer a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college/university in a Human Service field of study (social work, psychology, sociology, criminal/juvenile justice or related field.
- Experience working with behaviorally at-risk youth preferred, preference will be given to individuals with experience working in a residential environment
- Will adhere to appropriate professional code of Ethics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Must be willing to become First Aid, CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certified.
- Must be physically capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds
