DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities of the Before Care Assistant:
- Work with individuals or small groups of children in our before care program, 7:00am-8:35am.
- Maintain a safe environment for the children.
- Ensure that children and parents feel welcomed on a daily basis.
- Maintain proper attendance records.
- Keep classrooms clean and attractive.
- Perform light janitorial work in the event of accidents, i.e. spills, bathroom accidents, illness, etc.
- Administering first aid as needed.
Examples of Specific Daily Duties:
- Help children become independent with coats, shoes, boots, etc.
- Assist children with washing hands, clean-up, etc.
- Help before care children walk to their classroom for the school day.
- Organize craft or activity.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Love God and desire to share their faith with others.
- Love children and desire to help them in their personal character, virtue, and faith development.
- Have or desire to build an understanding of the Montessori philosophy of education.
- Adhere to the mission of St. John the Baptist Catholic Montessori School.
