Job Summary: The Basketball Gym Supervisor will monitor the gymnasium during weeknight practices and weekend games, and is responsible for equipment set-up and take down.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Actively support the agencys risk management protocol that will effectively control and reduce accidents
• Obey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the Safety Committee, attend and participate in required safety trainings
• Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices or conditions to the immediate supervisor
• Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs
• Create a safe, engaging environment through the framework of soccer practices and games
• Set-up and take down of hoops and scoreboard
• Oversee first aid station during practice and games
• Complete accident/incident reports in their entirety and submit to direct supervisor
• Positively interact with youth, coaches, parents/guardians and team members
• Communicate with other Park District staff, supervisors and team leaders as needed

Education and/or Experience:

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• At least one year of experience playing basketball

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

• Must be able to weeknights and weekends
• Must be able to run back and forth on the length of a basketball court
• Ability to lift 50 pounds for a distance of 25 yards

Required Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:

• Valid Illinois Drivers license
• First Aid Certification.
