We are seeking applicants for a Bander Operator on 2nd Shift (1 Opening) in our Akron, OH facility. Salary is $19.61 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the Bander machine and equipment which includes setup, adjustment, and clean-up.
  • Scan barcodes and pull excess scrap from units.
  • Ensure accuracy of unit tags, cover sheets, and stacking patterns while filling the correct number of bands per unit.
  • Submit repair and maintenance orders and recommending operational improvements.
  • Assume active role in overall plant and facilities-related work. Position requires assisting all jobs on the plant floor.
  • Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.
  • Maintain shop and shop equipment per 5S Standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to stack parts up to 30 lbs. for a period of up to 12 hours.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ability to sit, stoop, and bend.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends, as needed.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience operating a Bander machine.
  • Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
