We are seeking applicants for a Bander Operator on 2nd Shift (1 Opening) in our Akron, OH facility. Salary is $19.61 per hour.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the Bander machine and equipment which includes setup, adjustment, and clean-up.
- Scan barcodes and pull excess scrap from units.
- Ensure accuracy of unit tags, cover sheets, and stacking patterns while filling the correct number of bands per unit.
- Submit repair and maintenance orders and recommending operational improvements.
- Assume active role in overall plant and facilities-related work. Position requires assisting all jobs on the plant floor.
- Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.
- Maintain shop and shop equipment per 5S Standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- May be required to stack parts up to 30 lbs. for a period of up to 12 hours.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or GED
- Passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to sit, stoop, and bend.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends, as needed.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience operating a Bander machine.
- Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
