Ballet Instructor Job at Movement Dance Academy
Ballet Instructor for Competitive Dancers (Ages 8-18)
We are seeking a highly qualified ballet instructor to work with competitive dancers in our studio (starting this summer). The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in teaching ballet to young dancers, and a proven track record of working with competitive dance programs.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement age-appropriate ballet curriculum for competitive dancers.
Train and coach dancers in ballet techniques, including classical ballet, pointe, variations, and partnering.
Prepare dancers for competitions and performances.
Conduct rehearsals, choreograph pieces, and select appropriate music for performances.
Assess dancers’ skills and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
Communicate with parents and studio directors regarding dancers’ progress.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in ballet, preferably with competitive dance programs.
Strong knowledge of ballet techniques and ability to teach them effectively to young dancers.
Familiarity with the competition circuit and experience in preparing dancers for competitions.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other instructors, staff, and parents.
Ability to motivate and inspire young dancers, and create a positive learning environment.
Certification from a recognized dance organization is preferred.
This is a part-time position with flexible hours. Competitive compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
