A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BACKEND WEB DEVELOPER

As a Backend Web Developer, you have the crucial responsibility of developing and testing public-facing websites. A go-getter, you come to work each day ready to tackle a variety of software development tasks. At times, you work on your own, performing such tasks as ensuring that a website's CMS plug-ins and applications meet proper HTML semantics. Other times, you work in partnership with team members to develop information architecture and site mapping. You also create CMS templates and meet with website content managers to develop and implement content for various web pages.

Your experience with a variety of programming languages often comes in handy. You use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, and XSLT to develop, test, debug, and publish web pages, such as employee directories, search features, and calendars.
