Azure Data Engineer

Essential Job Functions

As a Data Engineer/Developer will work with multiple teams to deliver solutions on the Azure Cloud using core Azure cloud tools/languages. In addition will participate in building the next generation of application and/or data platforms and/or improving recent implementations.

(This is not an infrastructure position but an application development).

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team to develop Azure Cloud Applications using ADLS Gen 2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics.

  • Experience working with large datasets, data lakes (lake house), and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based, such as Synapse, Databricks, or similar.

  • Ability to provide solutions that are forward-thinking in data and analytics. Participate in driving best practices around data engineering and software development process.

  • Designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines, preferably Azure Data Factory and Azure data bricks using Python, SQL, PySpark.

  • Experience using Git and Azure DevOps Pipelines for deployment automation of data solutions.

  • Experience leveraging, designing, and building database schemas for analytics (preferably SQL Server and NoSQL)

  • This is client facing role

Mandatory qualification:

3+ years hands on working experience on following with:

  • Experienced in Py-spark Coding and SQL

  • Azure Data Factory and creation of pipelines

  • Azure Data Bricks (Spark, Python)

  • Azure Synapse Analytics

  • Experienced using GIT/Azure Devops for deployment

Preferred Qualification:

  • Managing azure storage (Azure Datalake Gen2, Azure Blob) Storage, Azure SQL database)

  • Designing Data Lakes and Data Warehouses

  • Azure DevOps

  • Hive

  • NOSQL

Work Environment

  • Office environment: Home Office

  • This position does not offer visa sponsorship nor relocation assistance

  • It is expected at this time, that you may be required, as part of the job function, to travel up to 90%

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the DXC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DXC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a vacation policy and region-specific benefits.

At DXC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is 100,000 to 120,000
