DMI is looking for a AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Position Overview:
Our managed services company needs an Amazon Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and assist in the development of Ruby on Rails-based SaaS apps, build scalable infrastructure architecture, and conduct server maintenance.

The responsibilities involve architecting the AWS hosted application, establishing global hosting and cloud solutions, integrating application components, and administering the server. If you are interested in cloud infrastructure architecture and deployment, we would like to connect with you.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture and design across all systems.
  • Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages.
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices.
  • Proficient in Ruby application development skills as well as multiple design techniques.
  • Working proficiency in Ruby on Rails toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies with ability to work in at least one of the common frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of techniques such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Test Driven Development, Cloud Development, application resiliency and security.
  • Working proficiency in a portion of infrastructure engineering disciplines and demonstrates understanding of overall software skills including business analysis, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and improvement of software.
  • Development of data integration pipelines sourcing telecom data from various systems into a data lake.
  • Adopt cutting edge technologies such as cloud/containers as a part of application evolution and modernization.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a modern SDLC environment and constantly strive towards improving the practices within the organization.
  • Understand business requirements and collaborate with the architecture team to translate them into technical design.
  • Ensures availability of host systems and related applications.
  • Act as a vendor manager for the DMI/AWS relationship.
  • Incorporate security-by-design into all solutions, ensuring that security requirements are considered concurrently with technical requirements.
Qualifications:
Education and Years of Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 5+ years experience managing cloud based infrastructure in AWS.
Required and Desired Skills/Certifications:

  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • 5+ years’ experience working with Ruby SaaS Applications.
  • Expertise in Ruby on Rails.
  • Understanding of agile software development.
  • Familiarity with basic server administration and deployment via Capistrano and Docker.
  • Familiarity with AWS and the AWS console.
  • Familiarity with automated testing platforms.
  • Ability to work independently without relying on significant management oversight.
  • Proficient with RESTful API design, implementation, and integration with 3rd party systems (i.e.: AWS S3, Salesforce, third-party APIs)
  • General knowledge of firewalls, how to troubleshoot and configure.
  • Basic knowledge of networking and how to troubleshoot issues.
  • Experience working with Monitoring and Backup solutions.
  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot Linux and Windows servers.
  • Experience in Logical Data Center design and implementation
  • Basic knowledge of infrastructure services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, File Services, and Print Services.
  • Ability to carry out requirements analysis and create detailed engineering solution designs using Visio
  • Experience in creating low level implementation and build documentation.
Additional Requirements:
  • Experience using Telecom Expense Management SaaS platforms a plus.

  • Ability to utilize a keyboard and mouse.
  • Ability to work in front of a computer screen for long periods of time.
