Job Description


About the Career:
The Enterprise Cloud Engineer I will be a hybrid of Audio Visual (AV) and collaboration tool support. You will build, manage and troubleshoot services and platforms in support of AV and collaboration tool needs. And you will execute system changes, while configuring, monitoring and testing system performance and capacity. You will also maximize system availability and transparency for customers by providing stable and reliable services and platforms.

Due to the nature of end user support in this role, this position will require you to be in the Des Moines, IA office full time.

Job Level: This role can be filled at an Enterprise CLoud Engineer I, II or III depending on work experience, skills, and demonstrated ability. Please apply if you have the minimum experience required below or if you have much more experience!


Qualifications


Required:

  • Associate's degree or direct and applicable work experience
  • Minimum 2+ years’ AV experience to include:
    • experience with enterprise level control systems (i.e. AMX, Crestron, etc)
    • AV system design experience
    • implementation/project management experience
    • solid understanding of hybrid collaboration tools (i.e. Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc)
    • high attention to end user support up to and including senior leadership
    • prior collaboration experience with Engineers, Security and Application Design/Run teams to ensure system design aligns to the architecture standards.
  • Familiarity with scripting concepts or control programming
  • Familiarity with various virtualization technologies and cloud environments
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team for the process of defining IT Solution scope, business/system requirements, and writing/executing test cases
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to communicate to a variety of technical audiences
  • Effective troubleshooting/problem solving skills; breaking down issues to find the root-cause with a high attention for detail
  • Understand risk and how enterprise level changes impact an organization
  • Proactive in nature and someone that is naturally curious, inquisitive and willing to learn new skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Appropriate technical certifications relative to area of expertise
  • Experience in providing high quality interoperability and has the ability to take action to improve existing processes, implementing solutions and measuring impact

Additional Information

a. Responsible for initial troubleshooting and issue resolution for multiple applications/systems. Will work with Cloud Engineers, Developers, Security and other appropriate stakeholders as part of issue resolution.

b. Utilize existing patterns to build, test and install services and platforms to support overall stability in compliance with technology standards; perform maintenance and upgrades as directed.

c. Perform system support and maintenance including on-call as needed. Will work under established technology policies, standards and guidelines and as needed, execute ad hoc commands.

d. Ensure systems availability and performance. Inform leadership and/or Engineering peers of systems health and create incidents for remediation.

e. Ensure adequate system capacity to support business functions. Will review and analyze patterns within systems to proactively inform leadership and/or Engineering peers of recommended changes as needed.

f. Coordinate existing documented work for Wellmark’s off-shore cloud support team, if applicable.

g. Ensure team documentation (e.g. process, run-books, diagrams etc.) is kept up to date and accurate. Participate in peer reviews part of standard quality assurance practice.

h. Maintain compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, licensing, governance, and contractual requirements by helping to establish and monitor effective processes and procedures. Stay up to date with technology policies and procedures; including updates for non-enterprise level systems, team processes and diagrams.

i. Other duties as assigned.


Office-based:
The nature of the job duties for this position will require you to be in the office 100% of the time. Your presence in-office is critical to effectively perform the responsibilities of the role. Occasional remote work may be permitted based on workload and/or other ad-hoc situations that support it, with manager approval.
