Automation Engineer II - Carrolton, GA

JOB DESCRIPTION

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing data acquisition, automation and control systems for Industrial Equipment, casting and rolling of copper or aluminum rod.
• Develop SCADA and operator interface applications.
• Design industrial databases (such as SQL Server and Oracle) and write custom computer programs for the company systems (SCR).
• Interface with PLCs and drive systems.
• Apply standard procedures to trouble shoot mechanical and electrical components, diagnose, and resolve issues.
• Create project manuals and electrical schematics using CAD.
• Develop cost estimates and proposals for electrical and SCADA systems.
• Develop an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of SCR systems.
• Assist with on-site commissioning of all aspects of an SCR system.
• This individual will transfer know-how to SCR customers through training, discussions, presentations, and startup assistance.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field is required.
• 3-6 years’ experience (compensation will be based on experience) but candidates must have industrial experiences.
• SCADA system experience (preferably GE iFix or Rockwell FactoryTalk).
• Experience working with Industrial Databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, Proficy Historian.
• Computer programming, networking, database, and reporting skills.
• Siemens or Rockwell PLC and drive experience preferred.
• CAD experience with AutoCAD preferred.
• Self-starter with a passion for problem solving and continuous improvement requiring minimal supervision and willingness to develop into subject matter expert.
• Ability to travel internationally: 25%
• Must possess excellent communication, organization, presentation, interpersonal, and project management skills.
