Becoming Behavioral Health Technician is a rewarding career path with room for growth. You begin with excellent training that will teach you the strategies and techniques used to help kids build skills. This includes a 40 hour virtual Registered Behavior Technician training, plus hands-on learning with our knowledgeable and supportive team. It doesn’t stop there! You get at least 20 hours of training per year in addition to weekly one-on-one supervision from the masters-level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) assigned to your client’s case.

Start as a Behavior Technician (BT) and gain the training and experience to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), a certification that is exclusively offered through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. After passing the RBT exam, your hourly rate jumps to $25/hour!

What You Have

· Passion for working with children

· At least 2 years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities OR

· Autism experience preferred

· Fantastic at following both written and verbal instructions

· Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

· Reliable transportation

Job Duties

· Provides 1:1 ABA therapy in home, school, and community-based environments.

· Implements individualized treatment plan interventions as developed and directed by BCBAs.

· Collects data to monitor the progress and effectiveness of the individualized treatment plan.

· Provides regular written and verbal progress updates on treatment goals.

· Supports the BCBA with training families on implementing individualized treatment plans.

· Participates in team meetings and trainings as directed and approved by supervisor.

· Ensures that the client is in a safe and positive environment at all times.

· Assists BCBAs as directed with behavior reduction assessments and skill acquisition plans.

· Communicates behavioral intervention results to parents and caregivers.

· Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationship by pairing self as a reinforcer.

· Fades prompts appropriately to promote both successful and independent responding.

· Increases the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations)

· Accurately collects behavior data including: A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval-based recording (don’t worry – we will train you on this).

· Follows the treatment plan goals and interventions utilizing sound judgment and seeks out appropriate consultation.

· Completes all documentation within 15 minutes of the end of the session.

· Must be able to lift 25 pounds. Must be able to crouch, kneel, crawl, walk, and run.

· Must be available for day and after school hours.

***Must be able to provide proof of Covid vaccination or be willing to receive Covid vaccination.
