Role
The candidate will primarily be responsible for supporting reagent manufacturing and media production needs for the organization and supporting cell and tissue culture needs on an as-needed basis. Other responsibilities will include assisting with the management of laboratory inventory and other recurring laboratory duties. The successful candidate will bring exceptional skills and abilities to the laboratory. He or she will also have strong attention to detail and the integrity to precisely report any deviation or issue observed in the laboratory. Finally, the candidate’s communication skills will be stellar. The candidate will report to Xilis’ Senior Manager of Laboratory Operations.
By joining the team at an early stage, the candidate will have an outsized impact on fundamentally advancing precision cancer care therapy.


Responsibilities

  • *This is a part-time position based on demand*
  • Primary responsibility will be supporting reagent manufacturing and media production needs for the organization.
  • Assist with maintaining laboratory inventory and perform routine equipment maintenance and cleaning.
  • Work closely with the leader of Reagent Manufacturing to prioritize work across the organization and take the time to perform tasks at the highest degree of quality.
  • Support cell and tissue culture for the laboratory operations team on an as-needed basis
  • Communicate often and quickly on various operational matters
  • Identify and document potential issues and report to management
  • Operate successfully in a rapidly changing, fast paced, mission-driven environment
  • Share thoughts and ideas on how to improve performance in the laboratory
  • Perform support tasks across the company as needs arise

Requirements

  • A.S. or B.S. degree in biology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering, biotechnology, or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a laboratory environment, preferably in an industry setting
  • Hands-on laboratory experience including cell culture, pipetting, and reagent or media production
  • Experience with 3D cell culture is strongly preferred
  • Experience working cross-functionally, demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication
  • A strong sense of commitment, integrity and handling challenges collaboratively
  • Experience and interest in a high-growth startup are preferred
