POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Director, Strategy and Innovation (SI) reports to the Chief Strategy Officer. The work of the SI team focuses on the ability to identify prospective client needs in new spaces/markets, where ECRI can develop and provide solutions. This role will lead members of the SI team to take opportunities and turn them into results. The position is expected to have a strong understanding of ECRIs business segments and contributions made across the organization. Likewise, this role will be able to develop strong relationships across ECRI, enabling the coordination of efforts from various resources in many departments. The ability to execute on assigned work and drive results for the team is key. This role requires being able to drive and lead projects and tasks to completion to fully support new opportunities for ECRI, with a focus on new markets such as emergent care and new solutions that enable better healthcare delivery and build on ECRI unique competencies. Demonstrated people leadership and team-building experience are required.

Essential Functions Statement(s):

  • Lead new client consulting engagements.
  • Gather and analyze market information, and work closely with other team members to deliver results that provide for penetration into new markets such as mobile health, ambulatory care and care at home.
  • Assist in researching and evaluating business development opportunities.
  • Perform due diligence of potential targets for acquisition and divestiture.
  • Actively contribute to development of new advanced safety solutions and other innovation offerings.
  • Assist in executing on new offerings to meet current and future demand for healthcare technology related resources and services.
  • Work closely with colleagues across business lines to enhance or build on ECRIs core competencies and reach new markets.
  • Cross-collaborate with other departments in the development of other new initiatives and service lines which are primarily focused on patient safety and reduction of preventable harm
  • Facilitate discovery around customer business processes and related needs.
  • Support team members in linking current initiatives to broader ones, always considering market trends and prospective needs.
  • Assist in running pilots of new innovation.
  • Assist in sales and business development activities during incubation phase of new service and product offerings.
  • Create and assist in delivering presentations to prospective clients.
  • Work in concert with other team members in executing on new business opportunities in a manner that supports a transition from awareness to assurance through ECRIs consultative services.
  • Maintain a consistent focus on ECRIs mission to advance effective, evidence-based healthcare through capture of and execution on opportunities.
  • Professionally develop, mentor and coach the Strategy and Innovation team.

  • Develop / enhance internal relationships across ECRI resources.
  • Execute on project deliverables as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • 7+ years of recent experience in project management and project deliverables, in healthcare consulting, investment banking or healthcare system, or as a leader, manager or other similar role
  • Clinical training or experience is a plus
  • Hands on experience required not managing but actually doing
  • Proven ability to work effectively with resources across and organization in order to drive toward results and outcomes
  • Ability to create impactful business cases

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree required. Masters in health administration or business administration desired.
