What You Will Do:
The ASM 2 - Sales Support Lead is responsible for the daily warehouse/stockroom/receiving and sales support activities and for driving sales and assisting customers on the retail sales floor as required. This individual is responsible for assisting the Store Manager (SM) and the ASM1 – Sales Supervisor in achieving or exceeding all operational standards and sales and profit goals on a daily, monthly and annual basis while adhering to all company policies, procedures, governmental regulations and customer service expectations. The ASM 2 - Sales Support Lead is also responsible for the overall management and operation of the store in the absence of the Store Manager (SM) and the ASM 1 - Sales Supervisor. This is considered a “key carrier” position and is responsible for opening and closing the store and routine handling of bank deposits.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Under the direction of the SM, the ASM 2 is responsible for warehouse/stockroom operations including:
o. Maintains clean, neat, well organized and safe warehouse and support areas
p. Ensures compliance with warehouse product banding requirements, safety and OSHA regulations
q. Accurate and timely receiving of stock shipments and merchandise transfers
r. Prepares customer orders for pick-up/delivery; accurate and efficient loading of customer orders
s. Accurate and timely cycle counts
t. Maintains and updates the store “Samples” inventory
u. Timely completion of negative on-hand counts
v. Reconciles product transfer discrepancies
w. Prepares outbound shipments and deliveries
x. Protects company facilities, assets, merchandise and equipment from loss and/or damage
y. Ensures proper maintenance and safe operation of material handling equipment including the forklift
  • Assists the Store Manager in executing the daily operations of a retail store including but not limited to; sales, gross margin, customer satisfaction, safety, inventory control, expense management, merchandising, setting promotional events, training, opening/closing, alarm response, cash handling, SAP and facility maintenance.
  • Interacts with others in a way that encourages a store culture and climate of inclusiveness and respect where associates adhere to the highest standards of honesty, ethical conduct, teamwork and cooperation.
  • Answers phones, makes required sales calls, acknowledges all customers and responds to inquiries.
  • Supports the SM and ASM 1 – Sales Supervisor in setting the standard for customer service and focuses on driving sales by embracing all elements of the Company sales processes, and support of complementary businesses (i.e. Credit, Delivery, Pro Sales and Installations).
  • Under the direction of the Store Manager, works to ensure proper inventory levels, by product, to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Assists the ASM 1 - Sales Supervisor in maintaining a clean, organized and well merchandised showroom.
  • Maintains supplies and completes cleaning, maintenance, and support duties as required/assigned.
  • Assists in the set up and maintenance of regular and promotional event signage and plan-o-grams.
  • Achieves personal sales goals and helps ensure achievement of overall store sales and profitability goals as well as operational metrics; demonstrates excellent product knowledge.
  • Assists the Store Manager in onboarding and training new associates.
  • Timely and accurate completion of all required reports, paperwork and maintain accurate financial records (e.g. reconcile daily cash report, forklift checklist). Completion of daily bank deposits as required.
  • Builds productive, collaborative working relationships with coworkers and other LL Flooring stores.
  • Timely completion of all required components of Company training, certification and compliance programs.
  • Resolves customer service issues and complaints in a timely manner to the satisfaction of the customer and to the benefit of the Company; “Thinks like a Customer and Acts like an Owner”.

What You Need to Succeed: Education:
  • High School graduate, GED or equivalent required
Related Experience, Qualifications and/or Certifications:
  • One to three years of related sales/retail/customer service experience; hardwood flooring knowledge a plus
  • Previous warehouse/stockroom experience preferred
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) skills a plus
Computer Skills / Special Equipment Knowledge:
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Outstanding telephone skills
  • Experience using a Point-of-Sale (POS) system
  • Ability to drive/operate a forklift required (forklift certification required prior to operating equipment)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
ASM 2 - Sales Support Leads generally work in a warehouse/stock area and retail sales environment that involves the use of office equipment, such as computers, POS equipment and telephones, machinery/mechanical equipment, ladders and heavy equipment (forklift). Routine exposure to frequent and heavy lifting, moderate noise, outdoor elements (heat and cold) and airborne particles. Limited travel required.
