Part-time Faculty Positions


DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in a variety of disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding. Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit. All individuals in the pool will be notified by email when the posting is closed.

Responsibilities:

The Department of Biological Sciences at DePaul University is pleased to invite applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin autumn 2023.

Applicants must hold a PhD and be broadly trained in Biology with a preference given to those focused on Developmental Biology with experience in one or more of the following: molecular biology, cellular biology, bioinformatics, or genomics. All fields of developmental biology and all systems will be considered.

The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education in a diverse environment and will establish an active independent research program that includes both undergraduate and graduate Master’s students. Teaching responsibilities will include some combination of developmental biology, molecular biology, general biology, courses for non-science majors and possibly other courses related to the candidate’s interests and expertise.

In addition to teaching and research activities, the faculty member will participate in service opportunities while contributing to an established, vibrant Department of Biological Sciences. Dedicated research space and startup funds are available. The Department is housed in a spacious and well-equipped teaching, research and support facility, including a 2,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art staffed animal care facility.
