The College of Education and Professional Development, Literacy and Early Childhood Education seeks a full-time, Tenure-Track, 9-month Assistant / Associate Professor (rank commensurate with experience). The candidate will have teaching responsibilities which may include both on-campus and off-campus assignments, and direct support for doctoral candidates, including serving as a committee chair. The candidate must also maintain office hours to collaborate with other faculty and to recruit and advise students, participate in program work, meetings, planning, and development, and participate in scholarship, research, professional societies and service the university and community.

The department seeks candidates who will contribute to the University’s general education curriculum and its emphasis on using high-impact teaching practices, particularly those affiliated with one (or more) of the institution’s pedagogical initiatives (e.g., Community-based Learning, Critical Thinking, First Year Seminar, Writing Across Curriculum, etc.). Additionally, the ideal candidate will contribute to the College’s support of interdisciplinary programs of study.
Candidates interviewing on campus submit unofficial transcripts (undergraduate and graduate) directly to the chair of the search committee.

Required Qualifications

Education
An earned research-based doctorate in Literacy/ECE or related area.

Experience
Evidence of teaching experience and technology proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

Education

Experience
Public school and higher education level teaching experience (live and technology enhanced), a P-12 teaching certificate, current scholarly activity.
