ROA is a well-established, TEA approved, and accredited small private school, K-12, serving a wide range of students. We are looking for a person who has the heart and temperance for Special Education. One who has a positive disposition and leadership presence, whether representing the school to the public, meeting with students/parents, training/collaborating with staff, or facilitating ARDs with local districts. The Assistant Principal works with 25+ students and their families in the ARD process from inception through execution and with the entire student body and teaching staff for administrative duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Special Education: Experience and proven ability in developing and implementing PLAAFPs, IEPs, BIPs, related ARD documents and subsequent reporting.
  • ·Support the Principal in ensuring effective collection and analysis of student performance data to identify struggling students, curriculum shortfalls, and teacher quality issues.
  • ·Supervise teachers’ instructional methods, evaluate lesson plans, provide weekly observations and professional development opportunities, and coach teachers around effective instructional strategies.
  • Drive and support implementation of the schools’ vision and guiding principles to ensure a positive, achievement-focused school culture for teachers, staff and students.
  • Leadership: Confident leading meetings (in-person or virtually), diplomatic with conflict resolution, and supportive of staff, students, and parents.
  • Critical Thinking Skills: Able to troubleshoot technical and/or interpersonal challenges to solve problems and/or design new solutions.
  • Teaching: Experience teaching in a Special Education environment for at least 3 years.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of EasyIEP, ESped, SuccessEd or similar programs.
  • ·Superior grasp of effective instructional and behavioral methods and strategies for educating special needs children.
  • Strong people and project management ability, with the proven ability to influence and enhance cooperative working relationships within a team environment.
  • Ability to leverage computer software programs and other technology that will support the learning environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Special Education Teacher and/or Administrator Credentials.
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Masters preferred
  • Special Education Administration and preparing ARD documents (PLAAFP, Goals & Objectives, IEP, etc).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
