We at Apex Herbals are a herbal health shop located inside the Hartville Marketplace & Flea

Market in Hartville, Ohio. Due to unprecedented growth and demand, we are in need of a part-time management trainee sales associate. This job to start out would be 2-3 days per week and including holidays (20-25 hrs/week) and events. This position demands that the schedule allows you to work on Saturdays and holidays (if a show is scheduled for that holiday). As this person gets acquainted with the business and products, then this person will be put into more days and hours to allow management to perform other duties for business advancement. Our main goal is to train this person to become a keyholder to open/close or work half-days depending on scheduling needs to help us meet sales demands. We are looking for a like-minded individual who views natural health/herbalism/hemp/CBD/THC like we do, and we go the extra mile for our customers. Our customers have come to know us as educated and certified, so you will need to be CBD/THC certified as well to have credibility in this job. We want to get this individual trained asap as we are heading into the

Spring/Summer which season is busy, and we are preparing to start hosting informational classes which we can train you to host or you can just assist. While we would like to hire the

ideal candidate with similar product knowledge and experience with herbals/vitamins/CBD and management, we understand not everybody has all the skills/knowledge for this industry so we are open to hiring somebody with no experience and we will fully train from the bottom up for the right person. You will be required to sign and adhere to an NDA to protect company intellectual property – NO EXCEPTIONS.

DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Job duties would include and are not limited to:

  • opening/closing business procedures
  • light dusting/cleaning as needed
  • sales of all products
  • demonstrations of products
  • operating a cash register/cash handling
  • running end of day reports
  • making local bank runs for change/deposits
  • making business advertising signs via chalk advertising boards
  • communicating with customers on telephone and in-person
  • helping with informational classes/sessions
  • checking in product/ordering product/pricing product
  • stocking shelves as needed
  • putting together product displays
  • performing inventory counts and performing expired product checks monthly
  • must be able to work in a team environment
  • must be able to work in a mainly low-stress/low-key environment but can be stressful at times during peak days and events
  • must be willing to work with others or by self as needed
  • once management trained must be able to direct others as needed for business needs

(scheduling, training, ordering, event planning etc. in coordination with owner)

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS: (What We'd Like to Have in a New Hire)

  • Knowledge of herbs/vitamins/supplements
  • Knowledge of CBD/Delta-8/THC Products/Endocannabinoid
  • 1 year of customer service preferred
  • Cash handling experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 1 year of sales experience preferred
  • Ability/Willingness to be trained/take direction/Grow/Learn
  • Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
  • Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices.
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
  • Perform additional duties typically performed by the Owner in their absence.
  • Management experience 3+ years (not necessary, will train)
  • Someone looking to GROW with us and with more accountability and job tasks as the business expands into more stand-alone stores

WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of customer service experience.

Management experience preferred, not required

Some college work is preferred, not required

3 raises in the first year – then yearly. In the first year, each raise is every 60 days with completion of training program, product proficiency, and responsibilities for Manager title.
