Summary
Spring Arbor University is seeking an individual with teaching experience for our M.A. in Counseling program. The department of Counseling offers a CACREP-approved M.A. in Counseling program with tracks in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling. The program is offered via Zoom. SAU plans to expand the program into an online format in the near future. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about preparing students to impact the world for Jesus Christ through the vocation of counseling. Applicants with experience teaching online or in remote formats and those from diverse populations are also encouraged to apply. The review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
Full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position. Starting date expected Spring or Summer 2023.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teach a full-time faculty load in graduate counseling courses per academic year. Much of the teaching will occur in the evenings via Zoom and/or online. Opportunities to teach undergraduate students at SAU’s main campus may be available for faculty who live within driving distance. Specific teaching assignments will be determined based upon departmental/university need and the candidate’s expertise. Faculty members are expected to work with the department chair to support and build the Counseling programs, supervise internships, participate in active professional development through research/scholarly activity, be active in the counseling profession through sustained membership in counseling organizations, mentor graduate students, and engage in institutional service.

Education and Experience
Applicants must hold a doctorate in counselor education, preferably from a CACREP accredited institution or a combination of a doctorate in a closely related field and years of experience as a full-time faculty member, per CACREP requirements for core faculty; ABD candidates will be considered with a completion date prior to beginning employment. Applicants must hold a current LPC or LMFT license or be able to be licensed within one year of hire. The selected applicant will have a proven record of successful teaching, preferably with experience in graduate and/or online education. Faculty rank will be determined by years of full-time teaching in higher education.

Experience working in multicultural academic environments preferred and individuals from diverse populations are encouraged to apply.
