The Assistant Nurse Manager at our Calispel Evaluation and Treatment unit is responsible for overseeing and directing the day-to-day operations of assigned inpatient units. Provides training, direction and clinical supervision for assigned staff including RN’s, mental health technicians, discharge planners, admission coordinator, peers. Plan, organize and implement nursing services in correlation with the goals of FBH's centralized medical policies and procedures. Appropriately respond to patient concerns and complaints and problem solve moderately complex patient issues, in collaboration with the nurse manager and director of nursing. Ensure staffing needs are anticipated and scheduling addresses coverage issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Participate in and direct the selection, orientation and training of new employees.
  • Ensure all employees are meeting FBH requirements including annual training, and policy compliance.
  • Review and approve employee timecards
  • Complete employee performance reviews on time.
  • Deliver clinical nursing care as directed by Nurse Manager, when needed.
  • Contribute perspective regarding revision and development of inpatient policy and procedures.
  • Direct the activities of assigned staff members and ensure staff members function within the scope of their credential.
  • Ensure assigned staff perform FBH charting requirements, correspondence, and other paperwork in a complete and timely manner.
  • Ensure assigned staff comply with state WAC requirements, other accreditation standards, and FBH policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate staffing.
  • Ensure maintenance of inpatient supply inventory.
  • Ensure equal opportunity for assigned staff with regard to work assignments, training, promotions and other conditions and privileges of employment.
  • Ensure staff members are acting in accordance with trauma informed care principles and treat patients and each other with dignity and respect.
  • Keep inpatient leadership chain abreast of emergent situations, challenges, barriers, staff issues and safety concerns or issues.
  • Ensures incident reports are completed accurately, thoroughly and timely.
  • Access and utilize internal resources when needed, including facilities, human resources
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with FBH staff and other provider network agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
REQUIRED:
  • RN Licensed in the State of Washington.
  • Must meet WAC requirements for a Mental Health Professional.
  • Three years’ experience in the direct treatment of the mentally ill.
  • Demonstrated expertise or training in assessment, evaluation or triage skills.
  • Working knowledge of psychotropic medications, their uses and side effects.
PREFERRED:
  • BSN Preferred.
  • Previous Supervisory experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Able to communicate with diverse populations of varied backgrounds, education levels and socio-economical differences.
  • Displays knowledge of when to appropriately access resources such as inpatient leadership, HR, pharmacy, prescribers.

PAY RANGE (Salary/Exempt): $93,415.36 - $113,806.71
  • All pay is based on longevity at Frontier Behavioral Health, thus, the starting pay is $93,415.36.
