Evans Expressmart is looking to hire a full-time Assistant Manager for our White River Junction location.

The Assistant Manager supervises daily operations to ensure that food safety, product preparation, and cleanliness standards are maintained. Assists with cash and inventory controls. Schedules and supervises staff. Maintains standards of store safety and security. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures excellent customer service is provided
• Ensures company policy is followed by all employees
• Trains co-workers
• Troubleshoots POS system
• Assigns and participates in completion of shift duties/cleanliness
• Helps manage staff
• Coordinates and supervises staff so that standards of cleanliness are maintained
• Supervises food preparation to ensure that food safety and operations standards are maintained
• Performs paperwork duties as needed

PREREQUISITES:

• Education: High School graduate- Some college preferred.
• Experience & Skills: Experience in retail operations or closely related field, preferably with supervisory experience. Requires excellent communication skills and an ability to deal with all levels of employees. Possesses a strong work ethic and is highly dependable. Computer knowledge is desirable.
• Physical: Must be able to work any area of the store when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
