In the Assistant Lead Care Assistant role, you will be a critical part of the operations leadership team and will work closely with the Lead Care Assistant and Care Team Leader. Your core responsibilities will be to create an exceptional environment for patients and family members, provide great care, and work with other clinic leaders to support our Care Team members.
As an Assistant Lead Care Assistant you will:

  • Work with the Lead Care Assistant to manage and lead our team of care assistants
  • Ensure smooth clinic flow throughout the day and provide targeted support as necessary to stay on schedule
  • Assist the Lead Care Assistant with inventory management for the location including consumables and medical supplies
  • Assist the Lead Care Assistant with monthly Care Assistant meeting preparation and execution
  • Assist Lead Care Assistant with routine administrative tasks
  • Interview patients at the start of the appointment, gather initial information, and obtain/ record vital signs as part of patient intake
  • Perform phlebotomy, finger sticks blood glucose, electrocardiograms, vision/ hearing screening tests, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing
  • Assist our clinicians during patient exams and in-office procedures
  • Coordinate follow-up care, including diagnostic tests, specialty care, and other treatment
  • Fill in for the full scope of the Lead Care Assistant role when the Lead Care Assistant is out of the office

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 5 years of independent medical assistant experience
  • You are a certified medical assistant AND certified in phlebotomy
  • You enjoy working as part of a team and enjoy being a team player who looks for the opportunity to support colleagues wherever possible
  • You have excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with all members of the care team, patients, and families
  • You are comfortable using a variety of computer systems and have broad familiarity with electronic health record systems
  • Ability to work at least 1 weekend a month and occasionally after hours (up to 9pm)

Preferred Attributes

  • 10 years of independent medical assistant experience
  • You have the ability to think quickly and strong problem-solving skills
  • You are eager to be part of an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, operations & technology experts, and community managers
  • You are knowledgeable of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures
  • You are knowledgeable about common safety hazards and precautions
  • You are compassionate, open-minded, and non-judgmental
  • You have experience in Ob/gyn, pediatrics, family medicine, and/or urgent care
