Assistant Greenhouse & Garden Grower that is passionate about flowers, plants and people to work with the production, maintenance, marketing & sale of plants & flowers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in producing quality plants in our greenhouses.
• Assist in maintaining our gardens and gardens around the Saratoga area.
• Help customers with a friendly smile & positivity.
• Communicate between staff in a productive manner.

GENERAL DUTIES

● Assist in crop planning, seeding, transplanting and growing annual and perennial plants and flowers in a greenhouse, high tunnel and fields.

● Oversee retail sales, track inventory and ensure positive customer experiences for customers at our greenhouse and garden market.

● Promote Balet Flowers & Design through social media and assist in planning other business promotions, including on-farm events.

● Aid in harvesting cut flowers and preparing flower bouquets for markets as well as weddings and special events.

● Aid in design, installation and maintenance of vegetable and flowers gardens for customers around the Saratoga Region.

● Assist in other aspects of plant and cut flower production.

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED

● At least 2 years gardening experience & enjoy all aspects of gardening.

● Responsible person with enthusiastic attitude that can work well with and motivate other employees and customers.

● Retail marketing skills to create an enjoyable environment for customers and attract new people to our farm.

● Ability to lift at least 30 pounds and do physical work in an outdoor setting.

● Willingness to learn Balet Flowers and Design’s growing, harvesting and design practices.

● Ability to work carefully and quickly, with precision and attention to detail.

● Positive, can-do attitude, willing to get hands dirty and work hard.

● Be comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds

● Must have a drivers license or reliable transportation.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Our Covid-19 precautions are evolving as conditions change. Our staff largely work outside where there is less risk of Covid infection. Previously, we have required all customers and staff to wear masks while at our greenhouse and garden market.
