East Haven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is currently seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing Services/ Staff Educator to join our team of professionals.

Position Summary:

Provides and/or arranges for facility wide orientation and training programs, in-service education, and other educational programs for the development of facility personnel. Provides orientation to Nursing Department, in-service and educational programs as above. Works closely with all departments and monitor, control and prevent infections at the facility.

We are currently looking for a committed and well-informed Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) who will assist in ensuring the nursing department provides consistent, attentive, and efficient care to patients.

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff, Risk Management, staff education, as well as ensuring nursing activities are in compliance with federal, state, and local standards.

As a successful Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) you are responsible for providing support to nursing staff, Director of Nursing, Administrator and the rest of the care team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Risk management-A/I, PT Investigation, etc.
  • Prepares annual calendar and master schedule of mandatory and other pertinent In-service programs. Submits copy to Administrator, Assistant Administrator, Director of Nursing and H.R. Coordinator.
  • Schedules, conducts and arranges mandatory and other in-services for all staff.
  • Prepares the monthly In-service calendars and distributes them to all departments.
  • Keeps abreast of and recommends training resources to departments participating in Training programs.
  • In conjunction with H.R. Coordinator and Department Heads conducts and/or arranges facility orientation for all new employees. Conducts orientation for Nursing Personnel.
  • Managing clinical operations and developing care plans.
  • Ensuring nursing staff follows departmental procedures and policies.
  • Conducting patient rounds and addressing complaints.
  • Scheduling staff meetings for patient updates, issues, and recommendations.
  • Ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local standards.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Has a current New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Has at least two to three years’ experience in a long-term care facility in Nursing Administration.
  • Have previous experiences in-service education.
  • Has knowledge of CDC guidelines as related to infection control, as well as O.S.H.A requirements
  • Master's (Required)
  • Supervising experience: 3 years (Required)
  • RN (Required)
  • BSN CERTIFICATION (Required)
