The assistant director of Athletics provides administrative and operational support to the athletic department, coaches, physical education faculty, students, and parents. This position reports to the Director of Athletics and Physical Education. This is a full time, 12 month, exempt position and will start on July 1, 2023.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

  • Maintain efficient systems and processes in multiple areas in support of the athletics department
  • Assisting with team roster management
  • Coordinating athletics team transportation
  • Managing weekly schedules for:
    • Practice locations
    • Coaching coverage (games & practices overlap)
    • Busing
    • Field & off site usage
  • Coordinating and reviewing seasonal game confirmations
  • Assisting in planning of end of season awards
  • Training team managers
  • Confirming with associate athletic director and physical education leads that the rosters are correct and all students accounted for on a team or class
  • Working with the middle school on maintaining up to date daily attendance
  • Coach a middle school and or upper school team(s)
  • Managing social media accounts in coordination with the communications department
  • Updating the internal and external website
  • Serving as the site director for AAIS/NYSAIS Tournament events
  • Managing uniforms and equipment
  • Coordinating daily game confirmations with opponents and assignors
  • Ensuring invoices are submitted to accounting
  • All other administrative duties, as assigned by the director of athletics and physical education

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2-3 years or more of experience in an administrative support role or related experience with thorough understanding of athletic facilities and programs
  • Experience in coaching a sport for middle and/or upper school aged athletes
  • Excellent attention to detail, professional attitude, good judgment, a high level of integrity and a strong work ethic
  • Flexibility and initiative combined with the skills for thriving in a team environment to achieve departmental and institutional goals.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Must have superior technical skills and be proficient in GSuite products including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, MS Word, MS Excel and must be proficient in learning new applications and software

SALARY RANGE

$75,000 - $90,000, depending on experience.
