Full-Time Assistant Dietary Manager

*Does not work weekends unless there is a staffing shortage*

We are currently seeking a full-time Assistant Dietary Manager. This 35 hour a week position is Monday through Thursday, with availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays based upon scheduling and special events. Flexibility in scheduling. Cooking experience is preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• This position is responsible for monitoring departmental compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in preparing attractive, nutritious and palatable meals for residents /customers following established menus, policies and practices, as well as best practices.
• This position monitors procurement, storage, preparation, and distribution and service of food under sanitary conditions. This position is also responsible for direct food preparation on certain days during the week. The successful candidate will work in an office surrounding, as well as directly in the kitchen.
• This position oversees, and assures, appropriate nutritional care for residents according to physician orders, state/federal regulations and resident care plans.
• This position requires daily engagement with employees and assisting them to be successful in their positions. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating work schedules for cooks, dietary assistants, and homemakers at Auburn Manor. The Assistant Dietary Manager provides recognition to employees who perform their job correctly and consistently, and provides coaching and redirection to those who need to improve performance.
• The successful candidate is required to follow Auburn Manor's infection control policies and procedures, OSHA, and CDC Guidelines that apply to blood borne pathogens, serving food, assisting residents, and cleaning.
• This position ensures residents’ common dining areas are pleasant and orderly. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and sharing pertinent resident information to appropriate team members.
• This position is in charge of the Dietary Department in the absence of the Dietary Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior applicable food service experience is preferred.
• Cooking experience
• Completion of an accredited dietary manager’s course approved by Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals education is also preferred but not mandatory.
• The successful candidate will be ServSafe Certified, or Auburn Manor will provide for the ServeSafe Training and Certification, within 90 days of employment.
• Basic ability to communicate, comprehend, and work effectively as part of a larger team.
