Job Summary
This position assists the head coach with the women's basketball team in all aspects of the program.
Responsibilities
- Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college’s mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies
- Identifies and recruits potential student athletes
- Assists the head coach with practice plans and game strategies for upcoming opponents
- Performs on-court instruction and player development
- Conducts and supervises individual trainings for student athletes and off-season conditioning
- Monitors progress of student athletes and implements strategies to ensure academic and athletic success with an emphasis on sportsmanship, integrity, a competitive spirit, and academic success
- Performs administrative duties, including camp coordination, traveling, and executing tasks
- Performs assigned duties in a manner consistent with the mission, goals, and core values of the college
- Maintains sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one (1) to two (2) years
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
Proposed Salary
$16.64 per hour

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics at the NJCAA level
- Knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations or ability to learn and retain quickly
- Knowledge of Title IX regulations
- Knowledge of FERPA guidelines
- Knowledge of psychology, sociology, and leadership theories
- Knowledge and experience with fund raising methods
- Knowledge and the ability to apply technology to athletic program management
- Knowledge of the repair and maintenance of fitness equipment
- Knowledge of tennis court, basketball gym, and athletic area maintenance
- Knowledge of college budgetary and purchasing policies
- Knowledge of sports and intramural activities
