Job Summary


This position assists the head coach with the women's basketball team in all aspects of the program.

Responsibilities


  • Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college’s mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies
  • Identifies and recruits potential student athletes
  • Assists the head coach with practice plans and game strategies for upcoming opponents
  • Performs on-court instruction and player development
  • Conducts and supervises individual trainings for student athletes and off-season conditioning
  • Monitors progress of student athletes and implements strategies to ensure academic and athletic success with an emphasis on sportsmanship, integrity, a competitive spirit, and academic success
  • Performs administrative duties, including camp coordination, traveling, and executing tasks
  • Performs assigned duties in a manner consistent with the mission, goals, and core values of the college
  • Maintains sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one (1) to two (2) years
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

Proposed Salary


$16.64 per hour

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities


  • Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics at the NJCAA level
  • Knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations or ability to learn and retain quickly
  • Knowledge of Title IX regulations
  • Knowledge of FERPA guidelines
  • Knowledge of psychology, sociology, and leadership theories
  • Knowledge and experience with fund raising methods
  • Knowledge and the ability to apply technology to athletic program management
  • Knowledge of the repair and maintenance of fitness equipment
  • Knowledge of tennis court, basketball gym, and athletic area maintenance
  • Knowledge of college budgetary and purchasing policies
  • Knowledge of sports and intramural activities
