About the Opportunity

The Clinton Presidential Center (CPC) Department of Food, Beverage, and Events (FBE) is comprised of a renowned on-site restaurant, 42 bar and table, and a catering and banquet operation serving special events of all occasions.

The Assistant Banquet Manager is responsible for assisting the Banquet Manager and/or Restaurant Manager with all aspects of "front of house service" for day and evening special events. He/she manages catering servers to ensure exceptional service, superior hospitality, and unparalleled dining experiences in collaboration with the Banquet Manager. She/he collaborates with the Banquet Manager in scheduling special event/banquet servers, handling customer concerns, maintaining attractive and functional ambiance, overseeing bars and bar services, controlling banquet inventory, collecting payment from client if required, and overseeing/conducting banquet/building closing procedures prescribed by NARA. In the absence of the Banquet Manager, acts as the" Manager on Duty". The Assistant Banquet Manager also facilitates front and back of house coordination with the Banquet Sous Chef and in the absence of the Banquet Manager

Core Responsibilities

In this role, you will/are:

Assists the Banquet Manager in all operations pertaining to the "front of house" for banquet service. This includes managing and scheduling all special event and banquet servers, maintaining inventory controls, assigning the floor chart, planning and assigning side work, and in the absence of the Banquet Manager, performing these functions as the "Manager on Duty."

Provides specific training with an emphasis on exceptional service, enforces attendance policies, completes administrative tasks, conducts and completes mandated evaluations for all "front of house" staff in collaboration with the Banquet Manager.

Assists the Banquet Manager in conducting bank/bar reconciliations, and overseeing banquet/building closing procedures, and in the absence of the Banquet Manager, performs these functions as the "Manager on Duty."

Assists the Banquet Manager in handling customer concerns, maintaining attractive and functional ambience, ensuring health, cleanliness, and safety standards are met, facilitates front and back of house coordination with the Banquet Sous Chef, and, in the absence of the Banquet Manager, performs these functions as the "Manager on Duty."

Minimum Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum Education Required: HS diploma or GED and equivalent experience. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree and/or Equivalent Qualification/Certification
  • Minimum Work Experience Required: At least 3 years of restaurant/banquet experience Preferred: At least 3 years of restaurant/banquet supervisory experience
  • 1 Read/Create/Share Banquet Event Orders (BEO) for Banquet Management
  • Banquet Events Orders (BEO) Banquet Management
  • Knowledge of wine, spirits, cuisine, and services styles

Compensation

Our best estimate of the compensation range for this opportunity is $37,500 - $40,500 annually, depending on the experience you bring. This range is based on Little Rock market rates.
