Assembly / Service Technician

Since 1948, Appleton Manufacturing has produced and sold high-quality core cutters, material handling equipment and other products to the paper, film, foil, packaging and converting industries.

Assembly / Service Technician -Position Summary: This position is responsible for safely assembling, testing, and troubleshooting company products in accordance with routings, work instructions, drawings and specifications. This role will share in-field service duties with the other team members to support our installed base of products. Position requires about 10-15% travel, including domestic overnight travel. International travel/service support experience is a plus.

Location: Conveniently located one minute off Hwy 41 at 1025 Breezewood Lane in Neenah, WI

Assembly / Service Technician Key Responsibilities:

• Assembling products per routings, work instructions, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Testing/evaluating/documenting assembled products prior to shipment.
• Troubleshoot installed Appleton products with customers via phone, computer, and in person.
• Train Customer employees on operation and maintenance of Appleton products/systems.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Approximately 10-15% overnight travel required to support machine startups, maintenance, and training at customer locations.

Assembly / Service Technician Requirements/Experience:

· Strong ability to comprehend Engineering drawings (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic) and work instructions. General computer skills required.

· Must have a degree in an electrical/electro-mechanical field and/or minimum of 3 years of experience.

· Must have working understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

· Must have working understanding of electrical circuits and wiring practices.

· Must have strong understanding of PLCs, HMI’s and Drives.

· Must have experience with or general understanding of PLC ladder logic.

· Excellent customer service skills required.

· Ideal candidate will have a background in Allen Bradley controls.
