POSITION TITLE: AS400 Administrator
POSITION PURPOSE:
The AS400 Administrator will be responsible for hands on IBM I (AS400) system administration. Candidate must be proficient supporting IBMi environments. Primarily responsible for the hardware and software, installation, administration and maintenance of Corporate IBMi servers including, but not limited to: multiple LPARs, message handling, command line utilities, work management, job and print control, device management, system configuration, system security, backup and restore operations, file transfer and PTF management. iSeries OS upgrade experience is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manages and monitors all installed (iSeries/Power) systems and infrastructure for the organization to be in line with company guidelines or SOP (standard operating procedure). Installs, configures, and tests operating systems, application software, and system management tools. Manage Backup, Replication/DR processes
Manages day to day operational support requirements and reports back to applications group for any out of control jobs or jobs that generates excessive amounts of logs or entries on the IBM History. Coordinate hardware and software support with IBM and any 3rd party application in place or to be installed. OS Maintenance: including apply patches, OS updates.
Ensures the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability. Plans and implements system automation as required for better efficiency.
Oversees the development of customized software and hardware requirement and coordinates network connections between IBM and other servers with the help of the infrastructure group.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree

Salary Minimum
$80,000.00
Salary Maximum
110,000.00
