Position: Network Engineer

Summary:

Responsible for the Universal Studios Hollywood wired and wireless network.

Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to design, implement, and support internal and external networks.

Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.

Identify capacity and performance issues to ensure uninterrupted service.

Provide network expertise for project build-out.

Assist in the operational, strategic planning, and business continuity / disaster recovery solution.

Work with other business units supporting special events.

Work on park network infrastructure. Provide day-to-day support, proactive maintenance, and perform system troubleshooting.

Key Skills:

  • Strong understanding of network design and topology
  • Experience troubleshooting Cisco switches and routers
  • Cisco Platform experience (Security, Datacenter, VoIP)
  • 3+ years’ experience working on Cisco R&S, security, VoIP, or Datacenter; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3+ Years of experience of Cisco wireless and Aruba

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate – Routing and Switching, CCNA.
  • Associate’s degree (AA) required. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred

Responsibilities:

  • This position serves as the subject matter expert and is responsible for all aspects of UPT data network (wired/wireless).
  • Provides design, installation, and configuration of all network devices.
  • Provides 2nd-level support on attraction network infrastructure (wired/wireless).
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Replace non-functioning network devices within SLA’s.
  • Build/Expand network for new venues/attractions.
  • Change network port assignments based on device requirements.
  • Troubleshoot network communications to the transport layer.
  • Assists in design, implementation and documentation of network infrastructure (both logical and physical).
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities

Job Type: Contract

Salary: Up to $50.00 per hour
