POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking an Architectural Services Representative (ASR) to join our Sales team! This position is responsible for effectively promoting dormakaba’s entire North American portfolio of products, solutions and services to architectural firms, design build firms and government architects. The principal goal of and ASR is to develop long term relationships with Project Architects (PA’s) and architectural firms that result in recurring opportunities to provide dormakaba specification writing services.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $75,000 - $95,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Develops long term architectural customers by creating relationships based upon dormakaba’s ability to provide a deep portfolio of solutions, products and services that reflect the bests interests of the architects’ clients
  • Ensures the architectural firm’s library is fully up to date with dormakaba’s literature, technical documents, and relevant samples
  • Uses deep relationships, networks within architectural firms to capture the following of additional PA’s
  • Develops key relationships with firms’ lead specification managers
  • Ensures that completed specifications are being sent to sales teams for action
  • Coordinates RFA’s and navigates approval procedures within a firm
  • Represents the entire portfolio of dormakaba solutions within an architectural firm
  • Ensures all specifications meet relevant local codes that the PA may require
  • Prepares and presents supporting documentation for the specification for the PA
  • Actively defends dormakaba position against competitive RFA’s
  • Actively involves in professional industry associations. Stays current with industry/territory knowledge and trends
  • Works and coordinates with security consultants as necessary
  • Conducts AIA registered educational programs (“lunch & learn”) to architectural firms and association events
  • Works with the Architectural Services Team to maintain consistent processes and procedures
  • Consistently participates in professional training to maintain high level market and solution knowledge

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree; technical/vocational school degree or equivalent preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in the door and hardware industry preferred
  • 1+ years architectural sales experience preferred
  • Member Construction Specification Institute (CSI) preferred

  • Ability to navigate sustainability program discussions (LEED, LBC, Green Globes) a plus
  • Travel-50%+
