The Animal Care Technician (ACT) functions as an expert in providing basic care for the animals at LHS. The ACT is responsible for maintaining a sanitary, humane environment and providing basic care for the animals.

All applicants must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Applicants must have a flexible schedule, be available to work 25-29 hours each week. Typical shifts are morning shifts (7:30am-12:30pm or 8am-1pm) and flexibility to work partial afternoon shifts or full shifts (7:30am-4:30pm or 9am-6pm) as needed is preferred.

WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.

Responsibilities for the ACT position include:
Prioritize compassionate and humane care of animals;
Ensure proper cleaning and disinfecting of the kennels, cages, and floors;
Ensure proper care, feeding, and watering of animals;
Ensure regular checks of kennel areas for cleaning needs;
Interact with animals in a safe, humane, and respectful manner;
Remain alert and aware of animal health and conduct;
Ensure all public areas are neat and clean;
Exemplify exceptional customer service;
Engage customers with enthusiasm and professionalism.
