Analytical Lab Analyst / Technician (Kaimuki)

Hawaii Analytical Laboratory is a locally-owned laboratory with AIHA and NVLAP accreditations performing analyses for asbestos containing material, mold & fungi, heavy metals and others, related to industrial hygiene work and worker's health and safety.

Responsibilities:
Learn standardized procedures for polarized light microscopy (PLM) to prepare and analyze building materials for Asbestos Containing Material (ACM), Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) for fiber counting, non-viable spore trap/tape lift for mold and fungi identification, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) for heavy metals analyses, and other procedures for wet chemistry
Enter data using MS Excel and MS Access software
Follow all laboratory procedures and standards
Training will be provided -- Experience a plus

Education:
HS Degree with some college science course work required
Bachelor's degree in science preferred

Skill Requirements:
Laboratory experience, either academic or work environment
Proficient in MS Office-Word, Excel and Outlook
Basic math skills relative to analytical calculations
Detail oriented and follows directions
Must be organized and able to multi-task
A team player with strong communication skills
Ethical work habits

Extensive Microscope usage
Accurate in typing/Data input

Must be able to sit or stand for long hours

Work Hours:
Must be flexible with work hours
Morning or evening shift, and some weekend hours and OT may be required.

Wage:
Wages are negotiable for candidates with experience
