Frazer, a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles, is currently seeking an Aluminum Welder to join our team. The Aluminum Welder at Frazer reports to the Fabrication and Welding Manager, and is responsible for quickly and accurately reading blueprints, carefully aligning and clamping together aluminum and steel components in jigs, and then welding components together to meet engineering weld specifications. Aluminum Welder must also be proficient with various hand tools to assist the aluminum assembly team with whatever tasks are needed while building ambulance modules to meet production goals for customers.


What Does a Week in the Life of the Aluminum Welder Look Like?

  • Weld all types of metals, set and maintain welding machines and weld vertical, horizontal and overhead. This includes practical knowledge of Mig and Tig welding procedures (all positions) as well as full-steam and spot weld materials (primarily aluminum).
  • Lay out, position, align, cut, shape, install, and weld together various aluminum components/parts to make aluminum body modules.
  • Operate, set up, and maintain welding machines (tip, liner changes, etc.) and other miscellaneous equipment.
  • Make minor repairs to equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
  • Cut, form, grind and layout materials, then assemble using welding, gluing or other fastening techniques.
  • Weld, bolt, clamp, screw, rivet, staple, glue, caulk, seal, tape and use other fastening means as needed to secure parts in position.
  • Read and understand blueprints, instructions and service manuals as well as verbal instructions, and related literature to accomplish required jobs.
  • Adhere to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations. While adhering to 6S standards and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be detail oriented and prior aluminum modular assembly experience helpful
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Must be able to pass a post-offer drug screen.

Oh, and $alary

Of course, we didn't forget the salary… Frazer offers competitive pay and this role will start with a salary between $18.00 - $26.00 per hour depending on education, certifications, and experience.


Work Schedule

The Aluminum Welder will work Monday to Friday 5:00 AM-1:30 PM. Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs.
