AGRICULTURAL TERRITORY SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Agassiz Seed & Supply, a wholesale agricultural distribution company, has grown steadily over the past thirty-eight years and is looking to fill an Agricultural Territory Sales Representative position to cover our West Central MN, Northeast SD region!

Our professional Sales Representatives are tasked with building personal relationships with our customers to help them determine ways to promote our seed and supplies to satisfy their customer’s needs while enhancing their ROI. Our salesforce also seeks out new business in their territory to help us achieve sales, profit and market share objectives while maintaining customer relations and to ensure Agassiz Seed & Supply continues to remain a leader in our upper Midwest market.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new prospects and interact with existing retailers to increase sales of agricultural inputs to meet and exceed sales objectives.
  • Assure customer satisfaction of products including, but not limited to, on time and accurate delivery and quality of product.
  • Create new strategic sales strategies with the sales team and management.
  • Consult with co-workers who have other areas of responsibility within the company, in a team approach, to achieve maximum results for overall company benefit.
  • Consult with retailers, and growers, on agricultural issues and prescribe appropriate actions/products to achieve desired results.
  • Demonstrate products and provide essential information (i.e., product availability, price, new developments, and market trends.)
  • Complete sales contracts and forms to record required sales information and collect receivables in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to company credit policy regulating credit sales.
  • Cover assigned territory by traveling to existing and potential customer locations to conduct sales calls, meetings, surveys, equipment inspections and demonstrations, problem-solving while achieving sales volume, profit, and market share objectives. Travel is required.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge on products, applications, industry, selling skills, and product support to enhance and achieve required sales performance.
  • Participate in sales meetings, and attend company-represented product and market training as scheduled.
  • Participate in trade and industry association functions such as trade shows and conferences, some of which will require overnight travel.
  • Reliable and regular attendance is mandatory.

Qualifications:

  • Previous successful sales and territory management experience.
  • Knowledge of seed, seed enhancements, or erosion control supplies.
  • Willing to make sales calls with new and existing customers to develop long-term business relationships.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated, goal orientated and able to work independently within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, time management skills and inter-personal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience growing and developing sales and market share within a broad territory or within a broad product line.
  • A valid drivers license.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
