Aggregates and Petrography Laboratory: Concrete and Aggregate Petrographer Job at Genex Systems
Genex Systems is looking for a Concrete and Aggregate Petrographer (CAP) to support the Aggregates and Petrography Laboratory at the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC) in McLean, VA.
Responsibilities:
- The CAP shall be an experienced geologist, mineralogist, and petrographer
- A subject matter expert on the petrography of concrete, aggregates, and other construction materials, with experience and skills in polished-section and thin-section microscopy and an in depth understanding of related AASHTO and ASTM standards and methods for examination of highway materials and mixtures. (Preferably a member of the Subcommittee on Petrography of ASTM Committee C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates.)
Qualification:
- The CAP should have education, training, and experience in geology, mineral identification, chemistry, research, and advanced methods of analysis of materials and mixtures.
