The Treasure Valley Family YMCA’s Child Development programs support children in their ongoing growth to ensure that they are ready for the next educational milestone, whether that be preschool, kindergarten, middle school, or high school.

The After School Teacher intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing and determined.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and ensure the safety of participants, families, staff and volunteers by following and implementing Child Development program approved Leading Practices.
  • Function as point person and provide leadership through planning, organizing, supervising and facilitating children in a variety of age appropriate curriculum based experiences.
  • May provide guidance to staff/volunteers overseeing the activities of groups of children.
  • Informs, involves and engages families with participant’s activities.
  • Keep equipment, and areas safe, clean and organized at all time while creating an environment based on the belief that children learn best through play, positive adult interaction and hands one open-ended experiences.
  • Responsible for following established procedures to ensure position relationship with program partners.

Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year working with children.
  • Must have current Boise City and/or Idaho State Child Care License.

Schedule:
This is a part time position averaging 10-15 hours weekly. The schedule is 3:30pm-6:00pm Monday through Friday.
