Job Summary

JEI Learning Center in Bayside & North Flushing, Queens, is seeking part-time & full-time instructors to teach elementary school (K – 5th) or middle school (6th – 8th) students during the 2023 Spring school semester. Please note you must be available to work in Bayside, Queens from January to June 2023 and longer preferably. This is not a temporary job.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Teach English/math to a small group (5 to 7) of students each session.
• Grade students’ homework (answer keys are provided).
• Report to administrators about students’ performance.
• Grade JEI workbooks (answer keys are provided).
• Perform minor administrative work if needed
• Occasional 1-on-1 or 1-on-3 accelerated tutoring sessions

Qualifications and Skills

• Responsible, highly motivated, organized, adaptable, and patient.
• High school seniors, undergraduates, and/or graduates pursuing degrees in education/teaching are welcome to apply.
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience is preferred.
• The applicant must be able to teach elementary and/or middle school concepts to students.
• Able to work weekdays (flexible) from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm or 7:00pm.
