R&K supports Air Combat Command (ACC), Directorate of Operations (A3), Flight Operations Division (A3T) by providing advisory services to support combat readiness and training, meet current and future needs, and to support the organization in the development and coordination of command guidance for all aspects of the Combat Air Forces (CAF).

The R&K Team is seeking a highly qualified candidate to support ACC/A3T - Aerial Events Teams. Candidate will provide advisory services for ACC Aerial Events in support of Airshows, flyovers, ACTs, and flight demo profile oversight. The ACC Aerial Events Branch is responsible for all analysis, scheduling, justification, and execution of the command-wide public display of ACC aircraft in support community outreach programs, air and trade shows, funerals, etc.

Duties: The successful candidate shall:

  • Support all aspects of planning, coordination, and execution of the ACC Aerial Events program and additional Flight Operations Division responsibilities. Ability to occasionally travel, including overnight travel, in support of tasks listed below to fulfill position requirements is required.
  • Advise Chief, Flight Operations Division (A3T) or Chief, Aerial Events Branch (A3TA) who will in-turn advise Commander Air Combat Command (COMACC) or ACC Director of Operations (A3) (as applicable) on worldwide coordination and scheduling of ACC support for aircraft static displays, weapons capabilities demonstrations, aerial reviews, aerial demonstrations, and flyovers, IAW AFI 11-209, Aerial Event Policy and Procedures, to include the integration of Heritage Flight (HF) support. Candidate may be called upon to brief above parties.
  • Assist in the planning and execution phases of the annual Heritage Flight Training Course (HFTC). Planning will entail coordination with military, airshow civilian point of contacts, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) personnel for ground training courseware preparation, logistical support coordination, and operational support during the flight-training phase of the
  • Assist with all aspects of planning, coordination, and execution of the ACC Single Ship Demonstration Team and USAFHFP airshow season schedule. Planning will require interfacing with the Secretary of the Air Force, HQ ACC senior leadership, Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation (AFHFF), airshow organizers, and other applicable entities as required.
  • Plan, coordinate, and attend airshow conferences, such as the International Council of Airshows Convention (ICAS). Contractor(s) attending shall be required to draft and provide briefings to civilian and military aerial events coordinators on procedures for obtaining ACC aerial events
  • Participate in up to two airshow quality assessments visit per year as scheduled by the
  • Serve as the HQ ACC Aerial Events Liaison Officer (LNO) with the USAF Thunderbird Aerial Demonstration team. This responsibility includes interface with the team as well as staffing Thunderbirds requirements within HQ
  • Assist the Government mission commander representative (Drago 2) with the overall planning and execution of ACT duties to include ACC tasked events such as NCR flyovers, State Funeral Support Plan (SFSP), and any other events required per US Air Force directives. At no time will the contractor be, or take on the role of, the mission commander. Specific duties for each team member are as follows:
  • Drago 1: Responsible for planning and coordinating with the FAA and applicable event organizer the execution of the designated event. Contractor shall provide on-site event coordination with event organizer to include establishing the flyover time over target (TOT).
  • Drago 3: Responsible for LNO duties with ATC at a designated FAA facility. Contractor personnel shall ensure the controlling agency has the correct pertinent information relating to the flyover. This includes number of aircraft, TOT, exiting routing, etc. ATC personnel will provide the required inflight information to the pilot in order to successfully execute the flyover.
  • Drago 4: When determined required by the Government, contractor personnel shall travel to the aircraft-launching base and provide a pre-departure brief to the aircrew.

  • Assist with additional Flight Operations Division tasking s, such as updating or reviewing publication guidance for ACC and higher HQ approval and performing administrative action officer
  • Assist in the coordination of public affairs media and US Air Force recruiting support for ACC Single-Ship demonstration teams at Air Force open houses and civilian airshows. Support includes interaction with Air Force Recruiting agencies, ACC Public Affairs, communication/recruiting support letters to airshow directors, school visits and media interviews coordination, and marketing material for Demo
  • Assist in the oversight development, implementation, and execution of ACC Single-Ship demo Team flight profiles. This requirement includes actions such as review of general demon flight parameters, demo pilot s grade sheets, HF formation references, and demonstration performance ground video for trend analysis IAW AFI 11-246 Vol 1, Air Force Aircraft
  • Assist in preparing Aerial Events products for publication such as the A3T dashboard, ACC Aerial Events public web site, ACC Aerial Events SharePoint site, and weekly A3 staff meeting presentations. Input airshow, F/O and ACT data into Aerial Events database, review Single-Ship demonstration team airshow critiques for trend analysis.
  • Assist in the tracking, monitoring and analysis of Heritage Flights flown for air shows, parades, and other events. Provide results to Flight Operations Division and Aerial Events Branch leadership as

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSA): Candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • Required a Bachelor s degree, a Master s degree is desired preferably in an operational/organizational analysis, organizational/executive leadership, management, business, aeronautics, or program management

  • Required five years of demonstrated relevant experience. (e.g. flight operations scheduling, aircrew resource management, command and control, or previous aerial events scheduling) of which one year must consist of staff experience on a headquarters level staff (Numbered Air Force/MAJCOM/Air/Joint Staff).
