Responsibilities

Reading Hospital is seeking a Family Medicine Advanced Practitioner to join the Center for Public Health. We are a Ryan White funded HIV/AIDS Clinic providing comprehensive services including HIV specialty care, primary care, behavioral health, medical and non-medical case management, nutrition services, anal cancer screening and phlebotomy services.

The position will include STD testing for at risk individuals. The Advanced Practitioner will work collaboratively with Infectious Disease and Family Medicine Physicians as well as other support programs and staff. Previous experience with Women's health, Sexual Health, HIV Experience would be a bonus, but will consider an applicant with strong community medicine background.

The position is an 0800-1600 position Monday through Friday. The Sexual Health Clinic (STD Clinic) is a part of the overall focus at the Center for Public Health. The Sexual Health Clinic/STD Clinic operates Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1300-1600.

Requirements for the Sexual Health (STD Clinic) are:
  • Sexual health
  • Male and female physical examinations
  • Gynecological examinations
  • Familiarity with STDs; diagnosis, treatment and prevention
  • Performing microscopy (Wet mounts)
  • Treatment and prescribing medications for STDs using CDC guidelines
  • Comfort with discussing sexuality
  • the time outside of Sexual Health Clinic would be providing Acute & Primary Care and Women's Health Care
