Job Scope: Join a diverse team of counselors and social workers providing mental health services in a community outpatient setting. Gain supervised clinical experience, with opportunities for continuing education throughout the year. This team primarily serves adult clients, but individual caseloads may also include children and adolescents. Specific client assignments are based on clinical experience, interest and credentials. Engage clients in individual, group, and family therapy aimed at reducing the impact of mental illness and creating positive change in their lives.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required. Accommodation for medical and religious exemption will be considered. Weekly testing required for approved vaccination exemptions.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide individual therapy to a caseload of adult clients, with a smaller caseload of child and adolescent clients
  • Conduct group, couples, or family therapy based on clinical experience and interest
  • Provide initial mental health assessments to identify service needs, share findings with clients, and recommend options for care
  • Involve client(s) in the development of a treatment plan to address identified behavioral health needs
  • Provide case management services to help clients and families gain access to needed benefits and services in the local community
  • Ensure continuity of care by participating in consultation with other internal and external providers involved in client’s care
  • Review treatment progress with clients and their families at proscribed intervals and modify assessment and treatment plans based on progress and client needs
  • Facilitate communication between the Center, other agencies serving clients, and the community, as needed
Performance Requirements
  • Implement evidence-based practices to ensure use of effective and efficient treatment that best address client needs
  • Work cooperatively with team members and staff from other agency programs to ensure continuity of care for shared clients.
  • Meet agency quality and compliance standards by accurately completing clinical documentation and service reporting in a timely manner
  • Understand the different funding sources available to the population served and the billing requirements for each source
  • Meet or exceed direct service productivity target
  • Participate in team meetings, staff training and professional development seminars
  • Become familiar with internal and external resources as needed to provide comprehensive services to clients as well as outside referrals.
  • Engage in supervision with Supervisor of Adult Therapy and in regular performance appraisals as directed
Position Requirements
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or University in Social Work, Psychology, or related human services discipline.
  • Licensure preferred (LPC, LSW, LCPC, LCSW, LMFT)
  • Prefer candidates with supervised experience in providing counseling and/or psychotherapy services
  • Must demonstrate knowledge in the areas of diagnostic assessment, long and short term treatment, family systems theory and group treatment
  • Must have basic computer and keyboarding skills
