At Southwood Psychiatric Hospital we specialize in short term crisis stabilization program for children and adolescents aged 4 to 18. We serve both male and female populations that are in an acute stage of psychiatric illness and are at imminent risk of harm to themselves or others.

Admissions Coordinator responsibilities:

· Conduct physical assessment of patient during intake.

· Review prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies and procedures.

· Initiate contact to gather required clinical and demographic data from patient and other sources.

· Assist prospective patients and significant others in seeking treatment.

· Coordinate with referral sources.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required with college degree preferred, preferably in Social Work, Psychology or Humanities field.
  • Some experience on a child/adolescent psychiatric unit; providing services to children or families or other related positions preferred.
  • Maintains competence in identified universal, core and critical competencies.
  • The ability to use manual and computerized systems to register admissions.
  • Valid Act 34/34 clearances required.
  • Valid PA Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of age specific growth and development
  • Must meet job competencies within 90 days of hire.
