Your Role in the Company

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership to the organization by planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the facility's nursing, social services, medical records, case management, programming, MDS, and spiritual care processes. The Nursing Home Administrator is responsible for the creation and maintenance of a culture of respect and responsiveness for both residents and staff and ensures the accomplishment of quality, clinical, financial, staff satisfaction, and strategy outcomes.

Essential Functions of your Position

  • Plans, organizes, evaluates and directs day to day functions according to policies, procedures and applicable regulatory, statutory, and accreditation requirements.
  • Is accountable for the successful operation of health services processes including financial controls of the annual health services capital budget, budgetary process, and performance against budget.
  • Assists in the development, use, enforcement and updates of policies and procedures to assure continued compliance.
  • Reviews and develops a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections and accreditation visits.
  • Selects, encourages and evaluates staff, contractors, medical directors, and consultants to supervise and support Health Center processes and programs. Delegates administrative authority, responsibility and accountability to other staff personnel as necessary.
  • Assures proper staffing levels are met.
  • Authorizes the purchase of major equipment/supplies.
  • Maintains effective relations with residents, families, staff, medical staff, etc.
  • Assures that the residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights are well established and maintained at all times.
  • Assists in the development of position descriptions and staff performance evaluations.
  • Supports other departments within the organization.
  • Maintains and develops knowledge of long-term care field through participation in meetings, seminars, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Maintains productive working relationships with the medical profession, health care facilities and organizations through formal working and transfer agreements.
  • Cultivates effective and respectful relationships with residents, families, and staff.
  • Exhibits behavior in accordance with SLSS core values.
  • Adheres to all of SLSS policies and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of a resident's pertinent health information in accordance with HIPPA guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess a current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator's license with the state.
  • Advanced training in hospital or long-term care administration is preferred.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long term care administration preferred.
  • Familiar with laws regulations and guidelines governing personnel administration.
  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts, planning and quality improvement and assurance.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a process-based collaborative organizational structure.
  • Must possess leadership ability and be willing to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
