Job Summary
Student Affairs at Auburn University is seeking candidates for the position of Administrative Support Associate to provide administrative support within the Melton Student Center department. This position is responsible for providing broad administrative support services to the Melton Student Center as well as the auxiliary buildings and outdoor spaces.

Essential Functions
  • Provides administrative support to the Director of the Melton Student Center and the Student Center Department. Performs multiple duties which may include but are not limited to data gathering, data management, correspondence, and filing calendar management, event scheduling, mail distribution, answering phones, organizing mail, purchasing/ordering supplies, and website maintenance.
  • Provide support with various projects and perform multiple administrative duties. Maintains and orders office supplies.
  • Coordinates with other departments regarding the Student Center open and close schedule. Prepares key/card access request for departmental employees.
  • Oversee the Melton Student Center Lost and Found.
  • Provides budget preparation, facilitates contracts with vendors; collects and deposits funds; prepares purchase requisitions, journal vouchers, travel vouchers, vendor vouchers and surplus property. Advises/works with others to clarify policies and procedures and resolve discrepancies.
  • Performs human resource administration. Prepares/processes new hire paperwork for Student Center student employees; processes departmental biweekly student payroll; prepares EPAFs; and maintains department’s student employee personnel files.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to student office assistants. Coordinates work schedules for student employees. Supervise and provide support, guidance, and communications to designated student employees.



Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Level I High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years experience in clerical and administrative support services

Level II High school diploma plus 4 years experience in clerical and administrative support services

Substitutions allowed for Experience:
When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
